Toyota New Electric Vans: Proace Verso and Proace City Verso
Toyota has taken a significant step forward in the electric vehicle (EV) market with the launch of its updated Proace Verso and Proace City Verso models. These electric vans, which have now entered the European market, offer enhanced battery capacities, improved range, and a suite of new features, marking a substantial upgrade from their predecessors.
A Leap in Battery Technology and Range
The most notable improvement in the Proace Verso is the introduction of a larger 75 kWh battery, replacing the previous 50 kWh option. This upgrade increases the van’s range from 230 km to 344 km on a single charge, according to the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) standards.
The charging time has been optimized as well, with the van capable of charging from 10% to 80% in just 45 minutes, making it more practical for long journeys and daily commutes alike.
Meanwhile, the smaller Proace City Verso retains its 50 kWh battery but still boasts an impressive range of 343 km on a full charge. Both models offer quick charging capabilities, ensuring that drivers can get back on the road with minimal downtime.
Design and Comfort Meet Utility
Toyota has also focused on enhancing the design and comfort of its electric vans. The Proace Verso and Proace City Verso have received aesthetic updates, particularly in the front fascia, where new LED headlights, redesigned bumpers, and a distinctive grille give the vans a modern and robust appearance.
These design changes not only set the Toyota models apart from their Stellantis counterparts—such as the Peugeot Traveler and Citroën Spacetourer—but also reinforce Toyota’s commitment to delivering stylish yet functional vehicles.
Inside, the Proace Verso is available in two body sizes, L1 and L2, accommodating up to nine passengers in various seating configurations. The interior features a 10-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and advanced driver assistance systems, ensuring a connected and safe driving experience.
The Proace City Verso, available in five- and seven-seat configurations, offers similar technological advancements and comfort features, catering to a wide range of customer needs.
